There are times when I look out over the horizon during a sunset and imagine (much like Louis from Interview with a Vampire), that it could be the last I see. Sometimes those vivid thoughts seep into my mind while I sleep, and I would wake the next morning, surprised that sun rays found their way through the tiny slits of my window blinds to illuminate my room.
Often, I find myself wondering how different life would be if I weren’t greeted with sunshine every morning and if the sun was forever positioned behind dark, heavy clouds of atmospheric toxins instead. How would it physically damage our world? How would we handle surviving after such a catastrophe, especially after witnessing other’s demise? How different would relationships be with the fear of death and guilt of survival on our mind the majority of our waking moments and in our nightmares while we slept?
I explore that scenario in Resurfaced.
And I invite you to explore the devastated world of Refuge Inc. too.

A standalone of the Refuge Inc. series
Given a rare chance at sanctuary inside the subterranean Refuge facility, Damien and Patrick were lucky to survive the cataclysmic asteroid impact that left the world a dark, toxic wasteland. But has their luck finally run out?
Chosen to confront the devastation above on a mission that can save the future of mankind, they emerge but quickly realize they might be unable to safely return to their comforts, their families, and the only home they’ve known since impact.
Will developing a bond and building trust aid them when using their skills as a botanist and engineer to find a living plant? Will finding a plant be the key to returning to their home beneath the surface? Or will unearthing Refuge Inc. secrets be their downfall?
